Liquid Telecom a regional IP giant supplying wholesale fibre optic, satellite and international carrier services to telecommunications operators has been honoured at the recently held 2015 AfricaCom Awards.
The Telecom giant was nominated for five awards and won the Changing Lives Awards.This honour was in appreciation for the free WiFi projects pioneererd by Liquid Telecom and the Kenyan Office of the President in the east African country’s Nakuru County.
Last year it was nominated under four different categories and walked away with the Best Pan African Innitiative Award and VSAT Innovation for Africa.
The AfricaCom Awards ceremony ran concurrently with the 8th annual African telecoms conference .The 2015 edition of the Africa Telecoms conference was held in South Africa , Capetown.
Some of the other entities honoured at the AfricaCom Awards included First National Bank (Excellence in Customer Experience Management for FNB Connect), Project Isizwe the city of Tshwane’s Free WiFi project (Best Connectivity Solution for Africa), Unitel’s Kisom. (Best Marketing Campaign) and Huawei (Best Network Improvement),
This recognition has climaxed in the consumption of several awards by Liquid Telecom in the past. Recently Liquid Telecom received the Best African Wholesale Carrier award at the Global Carrier Awards.
In addition to its Mauritius-based holding company, the Liquid Telecom Group has eight operating companies across the continent in Botswana, the DRC, Kenya, Lesotho, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda and Zambia, Zimbabwe and the UK.
Liquid Telecom once again in the running for another honour at the World Communication Awards to be held in December.
The chain of awards and nominations already accrued by Liquid telecom can stand as a positive representation as the Telecom is looking forward to a European Stock Exchange listing in 2016
